Sharon Lynn Mayo

Sharon Lynn Mayo was born on December 9th, 1964, in Drexel Hill, PA to the Late Ronald Roberts and Judith Flood. Sharon went into eternal rest on July 17th, 2021. Sharon was raised and educated in Darby Township. She was a graduate of Academy Park High School, class of 1983. Sharon’s first job was at St. Francis Country House as a nursing assistant; here is where she met her future husband, Eric Mayo; she continued to work here for 8 years. She then began a new journey at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital as a rehab assistant for almost 10 years. Sharon went back to her love of caring for the elderly and worked at Riddle Village, Granite Farm Estates, White Horse Village and Family Matters. Prior to becoming sick Sharon enjoyed working with children at The Learning Train Academy. Over the years Sharon has met and become friends with numerous people from her jobs. Sharon accepted Christ at an early age. She knew and loved the Lord. She was an active member of Mt. Zion CME church in Sharon Hill, PA. She was a part of the Missionary Society. She was also a founding member of the Sister to Sister Women’s Ministry. Sharon was an all-around loving and caring person; always seen with a smile on her face and a big hug to match. There was nothing more important to her than her Lord and Family. She genuinely cared for everyone she came across and would do anything she could for them, by being a shoulder to lean on or being a listening ear. Sharon was known for ending a call or parting ways with saying “I love you” and she truly meant it. She enjoyed family trips to Wildwood, NJ; having tea while watching classic movies, eating crabs, and her absolute favorite was dancing (kicking a heal up as she would say) especially to Michael Jackson. Sharon was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoyed the game of football. Sharon was proceeded in death by her father Ronald Roberts. She leaves to cherish her memory; Mother Judith Flood, Husband of 35 years Eric Mayo, three daughters: Taraya King(Derrick), Desiree Perez(Stephon), and Alexis Arnold, seven grandchildren: DaShaun, TaVeon, Landon, Jaylon, Arielle, Caleb and Amari, 1 bonus granddaughter Jayla, three brothers: Charles, Tyrone and Lamar Roberts, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.
