Jamar Anwar White

Jamar Anwar White was born on August 19, 1982 and he departed this life on April 22, 2024 at the age of 41 years old in Wilmington, Delaware. Everyone simply called him Jamar. He attended Meadowbrook High School in North Chesterfield, Virginia (Richmond, VA) where he graduated in August 2002. He was employed with TARGET Store Corporation. He moved back to Wilmington, Delaware shortly after graduating where he worked several jobs. Jamar was employed as a Longshoreman at the Port of Delaware for a few years. He also had a zeal for cooking and liked to experiment with different types of cuisines, especially those with an Indian affluence. He took that passion and worked at an Indian restaurant in Wilmington, where he was able to take his talents to another level. He and his father delighted cooking dinner whenever they were together. Jamar was a big brother to his sister, who lives in Columbia, South Carolina. He loved going to New Orleans and visiting his kin folks and a host of other friends and acquaintances. Jamar also liked visiting Chicago, where his father’s family resides. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcella Fisher, Grandfather Arther White, uncles Arther White, Jr. and Eric White. Left to cherish his memory is his father Irving White, Sister Jewell White, Grandmother Lillian White, Aunt Darlene Cunningham, and a host of cousins and family members in Chicago and Delaware. Remarks from his Father Words cannot express what Jamar meant to me. Our relationship was more than just father and son. We were friends and work buddies. We had a genuine respect for one another as individuals. Jamar has been an integral part of my life for 41 years and I will truly miss talking to him and spending time with him. Albeit sad, I am grateful that I was with him when he took his last breath. I will never forget his smile, laugh, and most of all the respect that he gave me. I could not ask for a better son. He was loved by many people, but he was my son and that made him special to me. Son rest in peace. There is no more pain. My heart, soul, and spirit will never forget you for the rest of my life. I love you!
