Dominique "Nique" Hebron-Bates

Dominique “Nique” Hebron Bates was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on April 27, 1965, she went to glory on August 5, 2025. She was the daughter of Mary and Joseph Hebron and sister of Tina, Steven and Dawn. Dominique was the proud mother of Brittney Nicole Adkins and was united in holy matrimony to Eric G. Bates, Sr., the love of her life. Eric and Dominique’s love story began at his cousin Larry and Joan’s Annual 4th of July BBQ in 1999, where she attended with her friends Linda and Bernice after being invited by his cousin Daron. It was practically love at first sight. Shortly after their first meeting, they blended their families, calling themselves “the Brady Bunch Lite”. Eric brought his two sons, the late Brandon and Eric G. (Ricky) Bates. Jr. and Nique’s lovely daughter Brittney, the light of her world. After a year of dating, Dominique relocated to Delaware with her daughter. She began working as an Executive Assistant for Enerwise Company located in Kennett Square, PA. Because Nique always held a strong belief in the family dynamic, she and Eric relocated to Maryland shortly after getting married on May 23, 2003. This was to live closer to her side of the family. She always wanted to build memories with family trips to Florida with their children Brandon, Ricky, Brittney and nephew Alonzo to visit Karen, Tony and Adina. Cruises with the family and other fun trips gave so much enjoyment. Once in Maryland, Dominque began working for the US Department of Transportation in Washington DC and Eric began working for US Federal Aviation Administration. When their sons became fathers Nique and Eric were overjoyed to be grandparents, but Nique was over the moon with her grandbabies, Gabriel, Auri, Austin and Chase. She always wanted to have them spend all holidays, spring breaks, summer vacations and Dominique.docxweekends that their parents would allow. Christmas was always special as she would go all out with their gifts where she spared no expense. Dominique operated like this without fail but she still made time to spend with our baby girl Brittney and our sons Brandon and Ricky building memories as she called it. Eric acquiesced by doing any and everything he could to make her happy. In her times of need, he never her side; he was always there and never left her alone. He lived out his vows, in sickness and in health. Her father, mother, loving daughter, sister Dawn and the family would help out when needed. Dominique was a true fashionista. She loved clothes and shoes; enjoyed old movies, watching TV and decorating her home. Nique enjoyed life and the people she came in contact with. She missed her sons but now they are reunited. Dominique Y. Hebron-Bates is survived by her loving husband, Eric G Bates Sr, their loving daughter Brittney Noelle Atkins, her parents Mary and Joseph Hebron, her mother in law Frances Bates ( Sam who preceded her in death), her loving siblings, Tina Mingo (Lynn), Steven Hebron (Bertina) and Dawn Gusky (Martin, Sr), and Karen (Eric),her loving grandchildren Gabriel, Auri, Austin and Chase. Her loving nephews Alphonso Jr, Alonzo and Martin Jr., and great nephews Alec, Jayden, Luca and Damien. Her loving nieces Samantha, Adina, Jordyne, Lilianna, Madison and great niece Sienna, other family and friends. Special thanks, To Aunt Sandra, Uncle Thomas, Uncle Carroll, Uncle Craig, Aunt Sis.
