Deborah R Jackson

Deborah " BIG DEB" Jackson was born Deborah Ruth Jackson on January 7, 1958, in Wilmington DE, and was the first of children born to the late Maurice and Elizabeth Twyman. On November26, 2024 our beloved Deborah was called home to be with the Lord. Deborah was educated in the Wilmington school system. Seh attended Mary C I Willams Elementary School and then Wilmington High School. Upon graduation, she attended Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, DE, where she earned an associate degree. During this time, Deborah gave birth to four children. Deborah, affectionately known as Deb or Big Deb, worked in the hospitality industry for many years before focusing on being a homemaker. Debbie was a diehard Pity -Patt, Dominos, Canasta, and Pokeno player. She was an avid crocheter and loved to collect random things. Debbie has a sense of humor that could fill a room with joy and laughter but could also tell you about yourself in a way you may have needed to hear it at the time. Debbie loved to gamble and spend time with family and friends. She and her girlfriends traveled to every casino with driving distance. She was a member of the "Sweet Revenge" social club. She was a Freedom Fighter who didn't play when it came to her community, and she treated every child as if they were own. She led protested for equality and worked to keep neighborhoods clean. Debbie was also a lifelong member of New Mount Olive Baptist Church in Wilmington, DE. Debbie will truly be missed. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: Mother: Elizabeth "Shingy" Twyman (P.I.D Edna M. Henry) (P.I.D by her father and one brother) 11 surviving siblings out of 13. Children: Stephen, Shawnda, and most beautiful child Oba (preceded in death by her daughter Sakeenah Jackson) and Shawn Brown, Amber Twyman. Grandchildren: Rayshawna, Raymera, Stephen Jr, Jujuan, Jahliel, Rashan Jackson, and Jacqueah Mays, Great-Grandchildren: Royal, Reign, Syire, Sentri, Sanaa, Stephen T. Jackson and her fur grandson Rizzo. A host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. The Chase/Smiths, Courseys, Browns of DE, Browns of PA, Richards and Miners Families. Deborah's legacy of love, strength, and dedication will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
