Charles Van Bullard

Charles Van Bullard was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 5, 1951 to the late Robert Van and Sarah Baynard Bullard. He departed this life on September 24, 2020 after a lengthy hard-fought illness. The fifth of ten children, Charles or “Chucky” as he was affectionately called by his family and close friends, graduated from Bok Technical High School in Philadelphia. Pennsylvania. He furthered his education at Atlantic Community College. In 1979 he was joined in holy matrimony to Deborah Boone and together they parented six children: Frank Brown, Timothy Bullard (Krishawna), Kimberly Brown (Everett), Charlene Bullard, Ryan Brown (Shanise) and Deena Bullard-Glenn. Charles had a great sense of humor and was highly gifted in working with computers and as a salesman. He was also a talented photographer who graciously framed and shared his pictures with family and friends. He retired after a successful career at Hillrom Services, Incorporation in 2013. As a young man he received Christ as his personal savior and later recommitted his life and was baptized at Open Bible Baptist Church in Williamstown, New Jersey. He later joined Faith United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. He loved his family and friends and held a special love for the family pet Shih Tzu Trenitee. Charles was preceded in death by one son, Charles Jr., three brothers, Robert Bullard, Alton Bell and Keith Bullard and one sister, Doris Bullard. He leaves to mourn, his loving and faithful wife of 44 years, Deborah, three sisters, Barbara Patterson (Henry), Carolyn Bullard, Jacqueline Fulton, and Vanessa Bullard. One brother, Gary Bullard, two Sisters-in-laws, Minretta McFadden (Hartwell) and Renee Bussey (Sean) and one brother-in-law, William Boone (Kathy). Grandchildren: Francesca, Frank III, Jennifer, Anthony, Von, Kimyatta, Nathaniel, Makayla, Taylor, Ariana, Amber, Ryan Junior, Ryahana, Ryhnise, Ryahnya, Rylan, and Charles Christian He also leaves, nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. As a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he was loved by many, but God loved him Best.
