December 26, 1968 - August 27, 2019
LYNELL HAMMOND (Minor) affectionately known as “Tommie” to family and close friends, was born in Chester, PA. She was the loving daughter of Betty Hammond and the late James Hamm and was born on Thursday, December 26, 1968. Tommie died on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 after an extended illness. LYNELL HAMMOND: graduated from Chester High School. She pursued her career in Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and upon completion of her CNA education, she was employed at Elwyn Institute and Fairacres Nursing Home. This was a very fitting career for Tommie because she loved people. Tommie also loved animals from the time she was a child. She was very gentle when holding them and more often that not, whatever animal she was holding at that time would have her complete attention. LYNELL HAMMOND was a strong woman who loved life and fought through much pain; she even endured dialysis because as she stated, when asked if she still wanted it: “Yes. you can't live without it.” Tommie was very independent with a very keen eye for putting together just about anything. She knew how to read and interpret instructions. Tommie loved to shop and often came out of the store with many freebies because she mastered the art of clipping coupons. She also loved to cook and had a natural talent for it. LYNELL HAMMOND was a force to be reckoned with but would do just about anything for family and friends. She will be greatly missed, and NEVER will she be forgotten, especially by her family. LYNELL HAMMOND is survived by; her husband, Fitzgerald Minor; her mother, Betty Hammond; daughters, Trayla Clements, Ameerah Minor and sons, Kenneth (Kenny) and Kennedy (Tommy) Minor; grandchildren, Roland Jennings, Octavio Negron and Dream Ramos; brother, James Hammond; special aunt, Beretha Hammond; special nieces, Tasliym Hammond Goodman & Faith Lynn Hammond; a special nephew Lathan Hammond, close cousin Sherry Washington, and a hosts of nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
