Dora Lorraine McKnight

May 29, 1951 - May 13, 2020

Dora Lorraine McDowell McKnight was born May 29, 1951 in Wilmington, DE to Charles and Lorraine McDowell. She passed away suddenly and went home to the Lord on May 13, 2020. She worked for years as a CNA for the State of Delaware at Governor Bacon Hospital and Emily Bissell Hospital. She transferred as a toll collector for the state of Delaware where she finally retired. During her life she had many talents, loves and hobbies. Arts & crafts along with crocheting and knitting were some of her passions. She also loved to bowl and to play pool, which up until recently she was involved in 3 pool leagues winning titles every year. She had a love for the Lord and Native American History. Dora loved to cook and bake for her family. Many will talk about how delicious her sausage and gravy, pineapple upside down cake and any other special dish she made with love. She also had a love of music and loved to sing and write songs. Nothing meant more to her than the love she had for her family. Her 5 siblings: Billy McDowell, Michael McDowell Sr, Marie Wolfe (Kenneth), Cathy Malascalza (Paul) and Carlene Hyett (Christopher). Her 4 beautiful children: Will Reusch III (Anne), Wendy Reusch, John Schenck Jr and Dana Schenck. And the loves of her life, her 9 grandchildren: Will, Mariah, Sean, John, Emma, Christopher, Ava, Grayson and Autumn. There are also numerous nieces and nephews that she loved more than anything. Dora was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Lorraine McDowell and her husband John McKnight. The one thing she would want to be remembered for was the love she had for her family. May she rest in peace.
