Remember Sean “BamBam” Brady Sean Durrell Brady, 59, of New Castle, Delaware, born July 24th, 1966, to Mother, Rev. CF Henderson and Father, Arthur Cooper Jr., departed February 3, 2026, at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Sean lived life entirely on his own terms. He was adventurous, deeply passionate, and without a doubt one of the hardest-working men you could ever meet. If you knew him, you understood that right away. He didn’t simply move through life; he put the pedal to the metal and lived it with purpose and drive. Sean attended elementary and middle school in the Wilmington School System and graduated from Delcastle Technical High School in Wilmington, Delaware, in 1985, where he majored in auto body repair. He took great pride in his craft and found even greater joy in passing down his knowledge, skills, and work ethic to his children. A legacy that will live on through them. During high school, Sean earned a co-op position at the Port of Wilmington. A place most would describe as grueling, with long hours and dangerous conditions, but to him it was an opportunity. October 1st, 1987, he “turned blue,” becoming a basic unit member (D-card), marking the beginning of a career he would master. He spent countless hours learning from the operators before him and practicing when no one was watching. That quiet dedication shaped him into a true master. He handled massive machines like Tonka toys, operating cranes with an instinct as natural as breathing. Sean never kept knowledge to himself. If you genuinely wanted to learn, he would teach you, “long as you feed Seymour,” as he liked to say. And when something seemed impossible, he’d calmly say, “Sit over there and watch me,” turning the moment into a lesson on what a true Master Longshoreman and Crane Operator looks like. When he wasn’t working, you could find Sean on his motorcycle, riding free with his Thunder Guard brothers or taking solo trips down the open road. With the wind on his face and not a care in the world, he found peace in that freedom. He loved the road, the brotherhood, and the simple joy of living life on his own terms. He also cherished family gatherings. Especially when they included good food, loud laughter, a little Crown Royal, and the perfect excuse to tell a great story. Sean wasn’t perfect, and he wouldn’t have wanted to be remembered that way. He was real, rugged, and strong. He had a sense of humor that caught you off guard, and he loved deeply, even if he didn’t always say it in gentle ways. He was simply the man he knew how to be, unapologetically himself. He leaves behind a legacy of grit, laughter, stubborn determination, and unforgettable stories. The world feels quieter without him, though those who knew him can still hear his voice, and those unmistakable loud pipes echoing in their hearts. Sean Durrell Brady was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents: Arthur A. & Lucille Dungee, Francis L. & Cornelia R. Brady, and Arthur & Evelyn Cooper, Sr. His adopted father, Francis E. Brady; sisters Stefanie Brady Greene, Abria Rogers, LaTania Aikins, and Michele Clark; uncle, Reginal Danny Brady, and aunt, Gwendolyn M. Quailes. He leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Faran Whitney (Benjamin), Durrell Brady (Jillian), and Kennadie Brady; his Mother, Rev. CF Henderson, Father Arthur Cooper, Jr.(Abria) siblings Craig A. Brady, Sr. (Pamela), Kevin Cooper (Stephanie), Mark Cooper (Dana), Tonia Miller (Vonn), Arthur Cooper, III (Lynette) Domonique Cooper, Tomasa Rogers; grandchildren Dante Brady, Benjamin Grant & Cayden Whitney; uncles Gerald A. Brady (Karen) and Craig W. Brady (Kathleen), Timothy Cooper; aunts Thelma Brady Wallace (James), Deborah Dungee, Joyce Dungee Proctor (Vernell) and Michele Dungee Brown (Steve) Stephanie Vega Quintina E Gladden, Michele Cooper, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
