Mario K Garrett

Mario K. Garrett was born to William “TZ” Crews and Blondena Garrett on June 10, 1963 in Chester, PA. He departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Chester, PA. Mario, affectionately called “Ab” was the third oldest of seven children. Mario attended Chester High School, graduating with the Class of 1982. Mario was formerly employed at Chickie’s & Pete’s, Philadelphia Union Soccer Stadium, The Chester Housing Authority, D’s Paper Company, Walmart and The City of Chester. Mario accepted Christ in his later years and joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he was baptized. Mario was one of a kind. To know him was to love him. He was that person who would do anything for anybody. If you asked him to do something for you, he did not hesitate. He was the one who would tell you, he loved you every time you were in his presence and meant it. Mario loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He was an avid sports fan. He loved all sports. His favorite was football. Mario was a die hard EAGLES fan. He had all types of EAGLES gear and memorabilia. Do not talk to “Ab” or asked any questions when the EAGLES are playing. He would not answer you at all. Mario loved getting together with his family during Championship games & the Super bowl. Mario loved children, especially his grands, great grands and his nieces & nephews. They loved coming to his house because he always had candy for them. Mario was preceded in death by his father; William “TZ” Crews, maternal grandparents; John & Mary Garrett, son; Mario Garrett Jr. & nephew; Tayvon Garrett. Mario leaves to cherish his memories; three sons; Abdul Coley, Lamont Wright, Daquin Turner & stepson; Tony Mosley. One daughter; Daneisha Garrett, Two granddaughters; Jo’shae & Jakiah Thompson. Two grandsons; Jaseir Thompson & Saadique Smith Mosley, One great granddaughter; A’myi Taft, mother; Blondena Garrett, sisters; Khadija Garrett, Falas Garrett, Teresa Garrett-Boyd (Lee), Lenshina Garrett, Judge Dawn Van all of Chester, PA & Cathy Hankins (Don) of Washington Township, NJ. brothers; Damon Hatchett of Chester, PA. Tamu Garrett of Jacksonville, FL. & Christopher Crews of Greenville, NC. Special aunts; Mary Bishop of Chester, PA & Venus Jones of Ambler, PA. Robin Hall the love of his life for 15 years will miss him dearly. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends that will keep his memories alive.
