Remembering Marie Roberts Marie Roberts lived a life defined by faith, courage, service, and enduring love. From her earliest days, her life was a priceless blessing to everyone who knew her. Marie Roberts was born on October 3, 1943, in Biloxi, Mississippi. On Saturday, March 21, 2026, God gently called her home at her residence in Newark, Delaware, with her loving family by her side. In 1961, Marie moved to Philadelphia, where she met and married the late Ronald L. Roberts. From this loving union, six children were born, forming the foundation of a close and devoted family. Marie was a faithful and dedicated member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for over thirty years. She served her church family with humility, compassion, and joy. As a Sabbath School teacher, she helped guide and nurture others in their spiritual journeys. She also faithfully served in the church kitchen, where she lovingly prepared meals that brought people together and created lasting memories for all who shared in them. Her service reflected her generous heart and deep commitment to her faith and community. Marie was also employed at Larchwood Seventh-day Adventist School for over 30 years as the head cook. During that time, she was given the opportunity to attend Loma Linda, California, to further develop her skills in preparing nutritious vegetarian meals. People came from near and far to enjoy her delicious cooking. Her meals were so loved that many wanted to purchase them, which led her to begin a small catering venture with the help of her children. Through her gift of cooking, she nourished both bodies and hearts. During her decline in health, Marie especially treasured time spent surrounded by her family. She found great happiness in Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings—moments that brought everyone together around the table she so lovingly prepared. Whether she was cooking meals everyone looked forward to, playing spades, sharing stories, or simply enjoying the presence of her children and grandchildren, those times meant everything to her. Her home was always filled with comfort, laughter, good food, and love. Marie Roberts was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence brought warmth, strength, and comfort to everyone who knew her. She was known for her gentle spirit, caring heart, and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life. Her greatest joy came from loving and supporting her family and creating a home filled with encouragement and togetherness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald L. Roberts; her mother, Charlotte Mitchell; her son, Christopher Roberts Sr.; her daughter-in-law, Lenetta Roberts; and her siblings Patricia, Herschel, Milton, Eva, Wayne, and Alex. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children: Marie Roberts, Alonzo Roberts, Ronald Roberts, Esther Goldsmith (David), Janel Williams (Eric), and Jarek Roberts (Lori). She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings Karl, Deborah, Michael, Marion, Mark, Carmella, and Leslie, along with extended relatives, church family members, and many dear friends whose lives she touched in meaningful ways. Marie leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her cherished grandchildren: Delia, Natasha, Sable, Erin, Ronald, Christopher Jr. (Naya), Kristen, Khai (Erica), Dominik, Jade, Kyra, Cree, and Kameron. Each held a special place in her heart, and she took great joy in watching her family grow across generations. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in God’s promise of reunion and everlasting life. As it is written: “For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout… and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them… and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16–18 Until that blessed day, Marie will forever remain in our hearts and lovingly remembered always. 🕊️
