Linda L Lemon

Linda Louise Lemon, age 64, of Wilmington, Delaware, peacefully departed this life on Monday, February 3, 2025, at her home in the Southbridge community. Born as the fifth child of the late John Robert and Earline Lemon, Linda was raised with strong family values and a deep-rooted faith. She was predeceased by her siblings John R. Lemon Jr. and Veronica Lemon. Linda was a devoted member of Harrison Memorial Baptist Church, where she and her siblings were well-known due to their mother’s unwavering love for the Lord, a love she instilled in them from childhood. For over a decade, Linda was an active and passionate member of the church choir. Through this foundation, she developed a lifelong love for God and a personal relationship with Him. She received her education in the Christina School District, excelling academically before graduating from Newark High School in 1978. Following her education, Linda proudly served in the Delaware Army National Guard for six years. After her military service, she discovered her talent as an Administrative Assistant, working across various industries, including Rollins Cablevision, Mack Lack, The News Journal, and Gagliardi Brothers*. However, her true passion was serving the community she called home. She dedicated her skills to organizations such as Neighborhood House and Peoples Settlement, making a lasting impact in Wilmington. Linda’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her beloved son, Ryan Marshall Lemon, affectionately known as "Butters" (Britney); her sister, Deborah Lemon; her brothers, Kenneth El-Shabazz and Carl Shabazz (Gina); and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews: Jermaine Lemon (Shayne), John R. Lemon III, Darius Lemon (Raelynn), James Small (Vibhuti), Atiya Shabazz, Tamera Shabazz, Imani, Kennedy, Taylor, Scott, Skylar, Roman, and James (JJ). She is also survived by her sister-in-law Shelley Davis, God-sister Kisha Donaldson, as well as countless cousins and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Linda’s life was a testament to faith, service, and love. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
