Damien A Ross Jr

Damien Artrelle Ross Jr. was born on January 26, 2005, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Damien & Ebony Ross. He transitioned to his heavenly abode on March 17, 2024. At the age of 3 Damien moved to New Castle, Delaware and remained there until his transition. Damien attended pre-kindergarten at Concord Christian Academy. He transferred to Family Foundations Charter school the following year and fell in love with football and basketball and remained there until the 6th grade. He attended 7th and 8th grade at Gunning Bedford Middle School where he participated in basketball and track. He then attended Howard High School of Technology where he learned the skill trade of carpentry and graduated in June of 2023. During his years at Howard High School, he played varsity in both sports all 4 years. He made 1st team all-district 3 years straight in football and won 2 high school state championships. In basketball his team made it to the final four 2 out of the 4 years he played. As a youth Damien played sports for several organizations and took pride in traveling across the country to compete. Damien played baseball for Suburban and New Castle County little league. He played basketball for Young Legends, I am Focused, Seeds of Greatness, Team Delaware, SMM, Rose Hill Boys and Girls club, and Newark Boys and Girls club. He played football for the Wilmington Soldiers, Hard Knock Steelers, Cecil County Saints, and Newark Knights just to name a few. He was known for being a leader and playing a tough hardnose style leaving everything he had in the game and remaining positive for his teammates in tough situations. Damien had a passion for cutting hair. He studied barbers that cut hair on YouTube ambitiously and began practicing on his father. Damien attended the Junior Barber Academy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and at the age of 15 Damien started his own hair cutting business in the garage at his house and grew his business to work in several barber shops in Delaware. Damien loved to travel and took a trip every chance he could, and his motto was to, “live life to the fullest”. In 2017 at the age of 12 Damien became a member of Seeds of Greatness and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior. He prided himself on being thankful, and grateful for what the Lord had provided and used his faith to remain grounded and humble by knowing where his blessings came from. Today each of us are blessed to have been touched by Damien’s tenacity, energy, and perseverance. He was a warm welcoming person with a smile that could light up the world. Damien fought a good fight, finished his course, kept his faith, and henceforth earned his crown of righteousness with the Lord. Damien leaves to cherish his memories: His devoted parents-Ebony and Damien Sr., Sisters- Danasia Ross, Dayonna Ross & Nakaiyah Lynn Cromwell (cousin), Grandparents-Debbie Floyd, Marishino Winstead, John Winstead, and Annette Evans. Uncle-Donier Winstead, Aunts Tasha Spann & Dermaine Banks, Great Uncles-Horace Floyd, Charles Floyd, Jerome Floyd, Ronald Spann, Dr. Tony Evans, and Maurice Evans, Great Aunts-Welda Floyd and Beverly Burrell, nephew-Eric Anderson, nieces-Ari & Aryn Jenkins, Godmother-Jaquay Waller, Special friends Ira Thompson, and Dhafeir Watts, and a host of family, and friends.
