Anthony Jamal “AJ” McIver On Saturday, March 11, 2023, the Lord whispered in a still and gentle voice to his faithful servant Anthony Jamal McIver to come home, to which he answered and has found eternal rest with his Savior. Anthony, affectionately known as AJ, was born to Melissa Price on December 5, 1996, in Wilmington, Delaware. From the tender age of seven, he was raised by his Mom-Mom, Lois Moore, his God-given and devoted mother. Mom-Mom Lois provided him with an extended family and an abundance of love. In 2004, at age eight, AJ accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized by his Pastor, Dr. Christopher Alan Bullock, at the Canaan Baptist Church in New Castle, Delaware. He served faithfully as a leader in Canaan’s Youth, Young Adult, Music, Christian Education, Drama, and Usher Ministries. AJ graduated from Hodgson Vo-Tech High School in 2015 as a distinguished honor roll student with an exemplary certificate in Masonry and from Delaware State University (“DSU”) in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. While attending DSU, AJ was an active member of various organizations, including the Gospel Choir, Drama Club, 1Entity Modeling Troup, Hidden Vanity Dance Team, and Foster Care Alum. AJ was the President of the DSU Theatre Society, served as the Creative Director for the DSU coronation, and was nominated for DSU Mister Give 2020. AJ was also a member of the National Society of Black Engineers. After graduating from DSU, AJ joined the Code Different Program, earning a Software Engineer Certification in 2022. AJ gained employment with JP Morgan Chase as a Software Engineer along with one of his best friends Melony Showell. Everyone who met AJ fell in love with his fun and loving spirit. He was a fine young man who positively impacted everyone in his presence. AJ had an infectious, caring, and calm spirit and was always kind and willing to help anyone in need. AJ loved fashion, and the clothes he selected seemed to be designed specifically for him. AJ enjoyed cooking, dancing, singing, and performing on the big stage. Also, he loved to travel with his friends to cities such as Houston, Las Vegas, New Orleans, and Puerto Rico, to name a few. AJ was preceded in death by his God-given grandmother, Florine Stafford, and cousin, Jaiquone Moore.
