Raheen-Bey Church

Raheen Bey Church was born on March 26th, 1981, to parents Kathy Church and James Chambers. Raheen was a strong spirited man who since childhood battled the painful disease of Sickle Cell Anemia. Sadly, on March 30th, 2022, the battle was over, and he departed from us to be at rest with God. Raheen received his early childhood education in the Wilmington, Delaware public school system and later went on to receive his High School Equivalency Diploma at the Red Rock Job Corp in Pennsylvania where he also studied carpentry. Later Raheen become interested in cutting hair and decided to continue his education, earning his certification as a barber from the American Barber Academy. Working his craft for different employers sparked an interested in Raheen of financial freedom for his family and employment independence. This led to taking a chance on himself and acting on his entrepreneurial Spirit. KB Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Service was created, naming the business after his son “King-Bey”. Raheen enjoyed hands on activities and was relied on by family and friends for repairs, installing and assembling various projects. He also had a love of rap music and one of his favorite pass times was attending rap music competitions/battles which he found to be greatly enjoyable. The Man we Celebrate today was very intelligent and knowledgeable on so many levels . He loved and supported his mother Kathy Church, all the way up to the day she sadly was laid to rest and mourned for her until he took his last breath, one day before her birthday. He was a very strong father and lived for his children, instilling the value of education, self-love as a person of color, and teaching them to always be their best selves. And he was a dedicated and faithful husband who would do anything to make his Wife, the love of his life and partner of 17-years happy. In the physical, Raheen is no longer present, but his spirit will live forever in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his Mother Kathy Church, brother Tyrone Church and Sister Tamara Church. Grandfather Joseph Church, Fraternal Grandmother Evelyn Chambers, Aunt Andrea, and Uncle Gary Church. Memories will be forever cherished and carried on by his wife Ieisha Church, his children Aizurri and Ai ‘King-Bey Church, god-children, Armani and Tymere Nickerson, Aryion and Azariah Coney-Nickerson, and Jamari Oglesby. Father James Chambers, siblings, Cathy Church, Corey and Shawn Clark. Nieces and Nephews, Tanaija, Leeaira, Leeamya, Malachi, and Nevaeh-Skye Church and Trevoni King. Great-Nephews: Jermere, Jermiah and Jermari Lott. Maternal Grandmother, Henrietta Church, Uncles Marlando, Ronald (Paula), Anthony and Andre Church. Best friend, Tamara Nickerson and a host of special cousins, relatives, neighbors, and friends.
